Norden Leacox Accident & Injury Law is proud to offer this scholarship opportunity to recognize the strength, resilience, and determination of childhood cancer survivors as they pursue their educational goals and build their futures.

Every childhood cancer survivor has a story of courage, perseverance, and hope. Through the Conquering Childhood Cancer Scholarship, we aim to recognize those stories and invest in the bright futures that follow.

The selected recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship award paid directly to them to support their educational expenses.

About the Scholarship

At Norden Leacox Accident & Injury Law, we believe that overcoming adversity requires extraordinary courage. Childhood cancer survivors face challenges that most people can scarcely imagine, yet many emerge with remarkable strength, resilience, and determination.

The Conquering Childhood Cancer Scholarship was established to honor those individuals and help support their educational pursuits. Through this scholarship, we hope to celebrate inspiring stories of perseverance while helping students continue their academic journey and pursue their goals.

We recognize that a cancer diagnosis can impact every aspect of a young person’s life. By providing financial support and a platform to share their experiences, we hope to encourage and empower survivors as they take the next steps toward their future.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a legal resident of the United States.
  • Have been diagnosed with childhood cancer.
  • Be currently enrolled in, accepted to, or planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution in the United States.
  • Be pursuing education at a two-year college, four-year university, graduate program, vocational school, or other accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Be in good academic standing.

Employees of Norden Leacox Accident & Injury Law, their immediate family members, and members of their household are not eligible to apply.

Essay Requirement

Applicants must submit an original essay between 750 and 1,000 words addressing the following prompt:

How has your experience with childhood cancer shaped your perspective on life, education, and your future goals?

Your essay may discuss your diagnosis, treatment journey, survivorship experience, personal growth, challenges you have overcome, support systems that helped you along the way, and how your experience has influenced your educational and career aspirations.

Applicants are encouraged to share their stories in a way that feels authentic and comfortable to them.

  • Current resume
  • Current transcript (official or unofficial)

High school graduates planning to begin college may also submit proof of enrollment or acceptance if available.

One scholarship recipient will be selected following the application review process and notified directly by Norden Leacox Accident & Injury Law.
