Michael Vaughn is a Board Certified Specialist in Civil Trial Law Board certification that recognizes attorneys’ special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice.

Before joining Norden Leacox Accident & Injury Law, Mr. Vaughn was a trial attorney with the largest personal injury firm in the United States and a trial attorney with the largest insurance carrier in the United States. Mr. Vaughn has tried 80+ civil cases in Florida and around the United States. Mr. Vaughn’s passion is advocating for people who cannot advocate for themselves. Prior to law school, he worked in television and film production in Los Angeles, California.

Mr. Vaughn is also retired as a Captain in the U.S. Coast Guard. He served in numerous operational and legal positions such as United States Northern Command, United States Southern Command, the Department of Justice and United States Attorney offices, USCG Base Miami Beach, Coast Guard senior staff positions, onboard Coast Guard Cutters, Coast Guard Sectors, and stations. Mr. Vaughn had a long and distinguished military career. In addition to serving as a line officer, he was a qualified Judge Advocate (JAG) and conducted numerous Court Martials as a Prosecutor, advised senior officers on a variety of complicated legal issues, and advised on and was involved with counter-drug enforcement and federal prosecution. Michael served in both legal and operational positions in his 20+ year military career. He also served as a Trial Attorney at the United States Department of Justice, Admiralty, and Maritime section.

Mr. Vaughn is a lifelong surfer, snowboarder, a three-time Ironman triathlete, and has qualified multiple times for and run the Boston Marathon.
