ATTORNEY
Michael R. Vaughn is a Board Certified Specialist in Civil Trial Law, a distinction awarded to attorneys who demonstrate exceptional knowledge, skill, and professionalism in trial advocacy. This certification reflects Mr. Vaughn’s commitment to legal excellence, ethical practice, and advocacy on behalf of those who need it most.
Mr. Vaughn has tried over 80 civil cases in Florida and across the United States. Prior to joining Norden Leacox Accident & Injury Law, he served as a trial attorney at both the largest personal injury law firm in the country and the largest insurance carrier in the United States, giving him a uniquely well-rounded perspective on civil litigation and strategy.
A passionate advocate, Mr. Vaughn is driven by a mission to represent those who cannot advocate for themselves. Before entering the legal profession, he worked in television and film production in Los Angeles, California.
Mr. Vaughn also proudly retired as a Captain in the United States Coast Guard, following a distinguished 20+ year career in both operational and legal roles.
His service included assignments at U.S. Northern Command, U.S. Southern Command, the Department of Justice, United States Attorney’s Offices, Coast Guard Base Miami Beach, and multiple Coast Guard cutters, stations, and sectors. As a qualified Judge Advocate (JAG), he prosecuted numerous courts-martial and advised senior military leaders on complex legal and operational matters, including counter-narcotics enforcement and federal criminal prosecution. He also served as a Trial Attorney in the Admiralty and Maritime Section of the U.S. Department of Justice.
Outside the courtroom, Mr. Vaughn leads an active and disciplined life. He is a lifelong surfer and snowboarder, a three-time Ironman triathlete, and a multi-time Boston Marathon qualifier and finisher.
