With over 18 years of legal experience, he has successfully represented clients in both state and federal courts, at trial and appellate levels. His deep commitment to personal injury law ensures that his clients receive the strong advocacy they deserve.
Before entering the legal field, Mr. McLaughlin built a diverse professional background in information technology, real estate, employee benefits and compensation, and education. Additionally, as a Florida licensed construction contractor, he has hands-on experience working with some of the nation’s largest developers and has served as corporate counsel for private contractors. This unique combination of legal and practical experience gives him valuable insights into how people think, act, and respond in various circumstances, enabling him to relate well to individuals from all walks of life.
Mr. McLaughlin holds a double major in Physics and Mathematics with a minor in Engineering from the University of Virginia. He furthered his legal studies at Oxford University, England, and earned his Juris Doctorate from Florida State College of Law. During his time at Florida State, he was an editor for the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy and received the prestigious Book Award for International Aspects of Intellectual Property.
His expertise extends beyond the courtroom. With proficiency in 12 different computer programming languages, Mr. McLaughlin has a sharp eye for detail and excels at identifying the critical questions that can determine the outcome of a case. His background in physics and engineering also provides him with unique insights into how accidents truly occur, especially when eyewitness testimony is unclear or conflicting.
