One of the most frequent questions we’re asked is how long it’s going to take to resolve a car accident case here in Orlando. We tell each client that it just depends; there is no exact science regarding how long a particular case will take to settle. Some cases settle within days or weeks – that’s not very frequent – and some cases can take months or years. There are a number of factors that go into that. It all depends on the nature of the injuries, how much medical treatment is needed, how long that medical treatment is going to go on for, how much insurance the at-fault party has, and whether the insurance company on the other side is going to make a fair and reasonable and timely offer. All these factors affect how long the case is going to settle.

Some cases, if we have to litigate – and here in Orange County our court system is very busy – can take roughly a year and a half from when we file a lawsuit to actually get to a jury trial. We try to push our cases aggressively, quickly, and as fast as we can to get either a quick resolution or to a jury trial so that our clients can get compensated, move on, and put their life back together.
